Valley Forge Ashcroft Clubhouse

The Ashcroft Clubhouse at Shannondell Retirement Village is a 123,000 sf multi-functional community center that will ultimately service six attached residential apartment buildings. Complete with an indoor pool, recreation center, dining areas, a bank and other services, this building is an integral part of the Shannondell Retirement Village experience. Smucker Company performed the installation of the metal studs, thermal insulation, sound batts and drywall. All of the work on the project, except for the thermal insulation, was self-performed by Smucker’s workforce. The project was completed in twelve months.

As you walk into the lobby of this clubhouse building, you look up at a soaring two-story barrel ceiling that was constructed using metal studs and drywall. This lobby is the centerpiece of the building. The drywall finish on the barrel ceiling was critical because of the natural light that flows into the building from the large windows at the front of the lobby. Adjoining the lobby are dining rooms, TV rooms, a library and a billiards room. All of these rooms have extensive drywall soffits, bulkheads and columns that give the appearance of many smaller areas within the rooms. Also flowing off of the lobby to the residential buildings are long corridors with curved walls, soffits and ceilings. The main dining room at the rear of the building has a 30′ high vaulted drywall ceiling. Downstairs, there is a large indoor pool with a textured drywall ceiling. The interior design features of this building are spectacular and required a high level of skill from Smucker’s workers. Smucker Company’s management of this project was tested on numerous occasions with last minute design and layout changes.

We are proud to be a part of such a beautiful and high quality project.
